The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration enlists us to create scientific visualizations for education & marketing purposes.  We created this and other animations to explain how their fleet of vessels gathers topology data used to map the world's ocean floors.  They incorporate satellite data with a variety of sea-based devices. This one centers around a multi-beam sensor which is dragged behind a ship, in a sense "plowing" the sea floor to acquire accurate topographic data.
