The Storybook Ball - Mass General Hospital for Children »

Every year, we are enlisted by the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children to help create an immersive "fairy tale" experience for their annual fundraising event. One year the theme was "Mary Poppins". Our unique challenge was to create over an hour of custom-animated motion graphics which were then displayed on two massive, ultra-widescreen, 360 degree wrap-around screens.
Rooftop chimneys. Cartoon forests. Animated penguins. We utilized custom illustrations, particle effects, 3D objects, photography and other video assets to re-create the fantasy world of Mary Poppins for a live audience. The effect was truly breathtaking and helped convey the feeling of being immersed in a fairy-tale world.
In this sample, the animation file is heavily letterboxed due to the unique (and challenging) screen dimensions we needed to fill for the event. This file is one of four synchronized animations used to create a ribbon-like wraparound effect (as seen in the above photo).
